BARMASI (ONE YEAR) MAJLIS IN MEMORY OF MARHUM AZADALI JAFFERALI KASSAM

On Sunday 2 August 2020, a majalis in commemoration of the first anniversary of Marhum Azadbhai returning to Allah (swt) was streamed live via YouTube - majalis were being held in this way due to Government Guidelines and restrictions in relation to counter Covid-19 measures. In light of this, part 11/14 features a virtual visit to Woodcock Hill Cemetery (Northwood) where Marhum Azadbhai is buried.

In the absence of physical congregations, it was encouraging to see how well the community has adapted to online majalis during these months. Alhamdulilah, the majalis received over 800 playbacks on the evening it was aired. In case you missed it, the full majlis is available to watch on YouTube - the fourteen parts are presented here, in this blog post.

Please recite a Suratul Fateha for all marhumeen.

SPEECH BY SULTANBHAI KERMALLI @ PETERBOROUGH JAMAAT

Bismilahi Rahman Rahim

Respected brothers in Islam Salaam Alykum

I am thankful to Peterborough Seniors to give me an opportunity to speak to my brothers from various Jamaats who are present here today.

Today our brother Marhum Azadbhai Kassam was to stand here to deliver this speech. Alas he is no longer with us. Allah (swt) in his mercy has decided to take him away from us. We pay our sincere condolences to Marhum’s family and to give them strength to bear the loss. May Allah (swt) elevate his positon among the Chauda Masoumeen (as). May I request you all to say Sura-e Fateha for Marhum Azadbhai and all our Marhumeen

Azadbhai was a very humble man, full of enthusiasm and joy. He served the community faithfully for many years as Secretary, Mukhi, and Chairman of Hujjat Senior Citizen. His devotion to serve the community is unappalled. He was always striving to bring unity in the community. During my chairmanship of Hujjat Senior Citizen he was unselfishly helping and advising us. Despite his ill health he never refused to help Hujjat Senior Citizen. One could always rely on him to volunteer to attend meetings to do with Senior Citizen. We will all miss him very much.

When my granddaughter Maleeka heard of the demise of Azadbhai  She called me and said who is going to recite dua during Holy month of Ramadhan when we break our fast. You can see even children are going to miss him.
